Accompanied by a senior team from his ministry, the Minister of Welfare Yitzhak (Buzhi) Herzog visited Beit Theresienstadt. In the "Kamarad" room he met the team of Beit Theresienstadt headed by the director Oded Breda, Ruth Bondy, representing the ghetto survivors, representatives of the District Council Emek Hefer, including its head Rani Idan, himself of the second generation of Theresienstadt survivors.

The minister listened to explanations on the range and variety of activities, asked many questions and received appropriate answers. Inter alia he learned about the process of recognition of our museum and about the financial resources necessary for it.

He also showed interest in the target audience of our activities and our plans to expand them. Ms. Tami Maroz, responsible for activities with Holocaust survivors, suggested and promised her help; a first working meeting with those from the Emek Hefer District Council, engaged in welfare, was already agreed upon.

At the conclusion of the discussion the minister visited the Historical Exhibition and the exhibition “Theresienstadt League” displayed in Beit Theresienstadt; he showed much interest in soccer and parted impressed and willing to support us.
